This morning I woke up to NIИ’s “Not So Pretty,” and rolled out of bed, cursing 7:20 am and wishing I could just ignore work for a day. HA.
I stumbled from the bathroom to the kitchen debating boycotting breakfast (we really need to invent a new breakfast food; I’m tired of them all). I pulled the milk out of the fridge and a shock ran through my arm. I grit my teeth and bit down on my lip, and then the pain was gone. “Okay,” I said. “I’m gonna feel that later.”
I choked down a bowl of cereal (man, do I hate cereal now) and forced myself to go pick out some clothes. As I was pulling different things out and running outfits through my head, I slammed my ankle on the bottom of the bed. That one made me sit down. Trying to avoid unleashing a string of expletives and a pile of clothing into the wall, I swallowed hard and made myself stand back up. (My ankle finally stopped hurting about three hours later. Yeah.)
I picked out a white teeshirt, grabbed my white bra, and went into the bathroom. Before I even got the bra on — luckily — I noticed a long underwire dagger poking out of the bra.
“Well, fuck,” I said. “Guess I’m not wearing white.”
I’m down to one bra now, and I hate mornings more than ever.
We love you anyhow,
but you’re not so pretty now
Bummer; I get very irked when days start that way. Hey, you’re one bra up on me, … Ha! My days begin at 4:00 and I really don’t have the problem with what to wear. It’s either my PT (physical training) uniform or the ACU (Army Combat Uniform). (That’s a plus when deployed, … no time wasted figuring out what to wear. Ha!)
I hope your day improved. Update us won’t cha? (=-
I though this was the perpetual smile website?
@Ted: I didn’t know you were in the military. Whereabouts are you deployed?
lmao Pretty soon you’ll probably be a bra up on me, at the rate I’m going through them!
The day just kind of evened out from there. I did notice a hole in my brand new sweater, though. But at least it didn’t involve anything painful!
@Matt C: Only on Thursdays. (;
For some reason I am not logged in to this, even though I am logged on through the website. Anywhoooo, I am down to one bra as well. Right now I am wearing this horribly tight one my friend gave me, and I have decided to just wash my other one constantly and then break down and buy a new one eventually. Ugh. Being a girl, right?
Yup, Soldier am I. I’m deploying again (third time) in a few months. I’ll be in Iraq again before October begins.
@Nikki: I know, right? I wanted to splurge and actually buy a good bra from Victoria’s Secret, treat myself, you know? I thought it might help me a little, because sometimes they are so constricting so it might help with the pain. But now I need bras so badly, I can’t afford to splurge on just one. :B
I’m not sure what you mean about not being logged in. If you’re logged into WordPress.com, it won’t log you in here. It’s a different site. You would have to manually type in your name, email, and website here. I think there’s a plugin I can install for you to be able to post comments with your WordPress.com username. I’m not sure. Add it to the long list of things I need to look into! lmao
@Ted: Do you mind having to go back again? I’d rather see you home. I do think that it’s very admirable of you to be a soldier. I don’t agree with the war but I fully support our troops.
I am actually trying to get pen pals for at least fifty soldiers, though my pen pal project, Letters of Love. It’s called the 50 States, 50 Soldiers Challenge. If you or anyone you know might be interested in receiving letters from us, let me know!
Awww sounds like a bad morning, but amusing still the same ;P
I’m not a huge fan of cereal, if anything, I eat it in the evening when I run out of other snack food, and even then I eat it with milk in a mug; I don’t know why but it’s a habit I developed some years back, and I just prefer it to eating it in a bowl…
I much prefer breakfast drinks like Chocolate Up and Go, I don’t know if you have that where you are, but it’s a thick chocolate flavoured drink in a small carton that’s good to drink while I’m walking to school
I’m not as bad as you, I’m down to two bras, but I seriously need some more, my mum isn’t willing to buy me expensive ones since I “am still growing”, but none of the cheaper ones have my size… That doesn’t work out so well for me. I really need a part time job ;P
@Larissa: It’s amusing now, after all.
I wonder if cereal would taste better in a mug. I have to eat some kind of breakfast, or else I get shaky and could faint if my blood sugar gets low enough. I don’t think we have that Chocolate Up and Go here in the States, but we do have Ensure and other knockoffs of that. It’s a protein/vitamin milkshake kind of thing that you can drink in between meals. I sometimes use it to keep my blood sugar at a normal level, but some of the knockoffs are chalky and the Ensure brand name is expensive.
I was down to two bras, so beware! I’m terrified my last one is going to go. I really should just go out today and get some.
